The new ITALO OLD series was created by IRMA in order to make available again a selection of classics from its catalogue. All the tracks featured are heavily sought after by DJ’s worldwide, some of them were hits in their own time, but some others have been rediscovered today due to their freshness. They have all been re-mastered for the occasion. The first release (OLD 001) includes two most played versions (among the over 15 existing ones...) of ‘I Need You’ by Nikita Warren. The single originally came out in 1991, produced by the trio of producers Ferrucci, Bisiach, Hornbostel, and it became a club hit in Europe and US. Its legendary piano riff was sampled a thousand times, including a St. Etienne remix by MAW and the recent Soul Central single on Defected. On the same release ‘Echoes In My Mind’ by Riviera House Traxx, the team composed by Ricky Montanari and Flavio Vecchi, residents in 1991 at the Echoes club in Misano Adriatico. Their electronic sound still sounds very fresh 15 years later!
